    Hello
i´ve a huge problem with the analog stick of my xbox 360 controller. It works exactly like a ps 1 or 2 stick. I want to repair it and soldered it out. I found the problem and tried to re solder it in but it wont work 100%. The character of the game (a first person game) is spinning arround. So i want to ask, how the inside of a new analog stick looks like.
It would be nice if you could help me.
btw sorry for the bad english, i´m german. :) is your german good? It would be much easier for me if i could explane my problem in german.
    Yours faithfully,
    Gerrit Witterhold

    • Hallo,

      Danke fur deinen Komment.

  2. hello mr benwake,,^_^

    • Hi, thanks for your comment. This is a well known problem. In my opinion it could be 3 things:

      – the playstation detects the middle position of the stick when it’s plugged in when you start the playstation. Try to experiment with that.
      – if that’s not a solution, maybe another analog stick could be a solution, which I cannot guarantee.
      – if that’s not good neither, you have a problem with your electronic board, replacing it would cost too much money

why I did it? I hade some spare parts, and some time to sort it out, so it made it easier to check it out. I don’t know if it’s worth the money and the time if you haven’t have any spare parts.

      Grtz

  3. I have 2 problems on 2 different controllers. My first controller has a problem with the left analog stick, when ever I try to run in call of duty: black ops my character starts switching his gun, or takes out claymores. The second controller’s problem is the right analog stick when I aim down in black ops it gets stuck and aims down to the floor. I am 15, am good with tinkering with old broken stuff to get it to work so im not bad at taking things apart, I just dont have any tools for soldering(spellcheck), can you please tell me anything that may help. Email address is sasuketimeskip1@yahoo.com (any help would be great).

    • Hi, thanks for your comment.
For the first one, maybe check the key bindings?
For the second, is it only in Call Of Duty? If not, sometimes making a 360° with the analog stick helps the controller to recalibrate.

  4. Wow! this video (and website) is so helpful as I am about to solder a PS1 analogue stick on my broken Xbox 360 controller, and your spoken English is amazingly clear

  5. Does this work with ps3 controllers as I tried to resolver and resolver a new analog stick but when I turned it on to test it didn’t work.

    Vielen Dank schonmal :)

Hi Ben, my playstation 1 controller’s analog stick isn’t responding when I’m playing Metal Gear Solid. I just bought this from my local thrift store and I was disappointed because I have beent looking for a dualshock controller. I think the problem is with the left analog stick, it doesn’t click in like it should. Can you help me ?

    • Hi, what I did is try to change the analog stick and if that doesn’t work, I don’t think there is much you can do, it should be the eletronic board who doesn’t give the right signal. Hope this helps.
