  1. Hi Ben

I am aboute to buy the same MTB (Cube Comp) as you have and I also want to mount Bar ends, so I have a couple of quick questions.:

    A. Why did you change to another handlebar ?

    B. When I mount the Bar Ends, should I just cut of the “extra” Grips, to make room for the Bar Ends ?

    • Hi Thomas,

I always had a straight bar, the original one is not a straight bar, and I didn’t felt comfortable with it. But it’s a personal choice.
For the bar-ends. I only cut the end of the original Cube “rubbers” in order to make room for the bar ends.
But honestly, I shortened the bar to 58cm and let the ends “nude”, I didn’t cut them off already. I am still not sure about those 58cm, so I let them.
This gives me the option to enlarge my bar when I want.

Hope it helped you and thanks for visiting my site.
If there is any chance you are from Belgium, we can always ride together :-)

      Grtz,
      Benwake
